Tour

Spanning 2 days and about 2 miles, The Pickle Farmers have completed their first "tour". Performing at a well known musical establishment in Morris, MN know as the Common Cup, the Pickle Farmers performed 4 songs for a small invitation only audience. It was a world premiere concert and the first time 2 of the songs have been publicly heard. The concert went about as well as expected, securing many long time fans.

The very next day, fresh from the last day's success, The Pickle Farmers again performed, this time on a real stage, at Morris Area High School, as part of the Morris Area Arts Festival. The Pickle Farmers performed in front of an audience of about 20 to 30 people and the concert was a raging success. Common comments from the audience included gems such as: "You guys are amazing", "I really liked that last song", and "WOW!"

With our first gig under our belt we can only reach higher, the sky is literally the limit at this point. Thank you to all our fans, and thank you to the music gods for making this possible.

Debut!

The Pickle Farmers debut concert at 5:30 Saturday, April 26!!!
Come to the Morris Area Arts Boosters Annual Arts Fest for fun and general enjoyment, and stay for a debut concert of musicality and general awesomeness. If epicism were a word that represented magnitude of epicness, this concert would be the very definition of it.

Bam.

Just wondering what everybody thinks of this design Jesse James made for T-Shirts.
Good?
I'd appreciate a comment or two, anyway.
I mean sheesh! 200 hits and not a single comment. Seriously.

Besides that, wish the Prison-Meister and I luck in our epic battle of the brains tomorrow!

There're reasons they make drugs

And this is one of them. Do you know what I need right now? A good solid hallucinogen.
"A gramme is better than a damn."
I've been reading Brave New World, and holy Ford is it good. Makes one think about one's place in life.
I'd like to think that I'm in the caste right above the pickles I farm. I mean, it's great having a little authority and a few brain cells, but seriously, who would want to do more work than a pickle farmer? Plus, at this level I only need to deal with insubordination from the pickles that are larger than me.
Yessirree. I'm happy where I'm at.
I can practical feel Alcohol and Power Tools ripe in my hand as I reach up into the pickle tree to grab it.

Recording Session

As some of you may have heard from reading the blog entry directly below this one, yesterday The Pickle Farmers had another rehearsal/recording session. This session focusing on the rehearsal and early demo recording of two new songs, a parody of Hey There Delilah, and a slow song that is as of now unnamed. This recording session may have been our best to date and has produced some music that is actually palatable. Parts of these early recording may be uploaded and available for listening at some point in the future. The Pickle Farmers will continue to try and make these songs as good as possible before distributing a full recording, as always.

As many members of The Pickle Farmers have many conflicts going on, our rehearsal time is quite limited. We hope to very soon be able to concentrate on music instead of other annoyances, such as school. Now for the special announcement everyone is excited about.

As you may have heard through some rumors, there is a chance that The Pickle Farmers will be at the Morris Area High School Arts booster festival playing some songs for their world premiere concert. This is a bit in the future for now, but there is a chance.

As always thanks to the Pickle Farmer Family that makes all of this possible.

My companion. I wish now,
I had learned what struck your tune;
how to play your chords, and strum your heartstrings.
Now it's too late.

There I stood, ukulele in hand,
poised above my head
ready to strike,
like a fine woodcutter's axe.
There's a shuffle from across the room
I lept! I tumbled! I did one of those cool little rolly thingies made famous by James Bond!
Woosh! Splerch!
The sound a bunny makes when hit with a sledgehammer.

I looked down
to find my ukulele
broken
into three parts.
I'm only holding the neck.

Nooooooooooo!!!
Wasn't there another way!?
Why can't I rewind?

My companion. I wish now,
I had learned what struck your tune;
how to play your chords, and strum your heartstrings.
Now it's too late.

I wish that before we had tangoed
we would have box-stepped.

Dry.

We shant stay this way for long. We can only be silent for so long before our minds burst and we're forced to put finger to instrument/recording device. I, personally, am going stir fry without a jam session to ease my mind. Soy un perdedor! I'm a loser, baby, so why don't you kill me? I'm going a little horse. Radish?
Anyway, with the passing of music contest it appears that I will be having free time up to but probably right below wazoo, wherever that is, meaning ideas and more posts from me!
So far I have a short list of song ideas from me 'n' the chaps that includes
Hakuna Matata(remix)
My Aunt Arizona (a children's book)
and
Oh My Potato(credit given to Alex M)

Hopefully the juices'll flow and you guys'll hear another demo within the next week or so.
Heads up for some rock awesome music!
Peace out.

Chai M'Lady?

Well, it's springtime and we've been making some pretty admirable progress as of late. We recorded a demo of "Dad" as Blazin' Ray mentioned, and with that slightly upgraded our recording capabilities. This week, I suspect, will yield little progress however. Our members all must participate in a small group music contest, and Prison Dave, I'm afraid, must continue to trudge through his independent studies to receive his sacred slip of signed stationary. Also, all of the members must indulge in a world of mindless memorization for dramatic productions in which we are involved. Even so, we will indeed begin to enjoy the warmth of spring, possibly using it as inspiration for our pluckings. Also I felt as though metioning the chai at our glorious local java apothecary was neccesary, because it is far superior to any chai I've ever had. (Damn you Navy Pier chai!) Thank you Common Cup for your unending support of our madness through caffiene. Take it easy.

Dad

You've all had one, but regardless of any marital status complications or successes he may have had... we don't like him. We'd really much rather have your mom to ourselves, thank you very much.
As you could well guess, we've put out a demo(or two... hopefully "Dad" will be up soon)! It's rather hastily thrown together, but I think you all can appreciate my sweetly off-pitch croonings, as well as Jesse James's out-of-tune plunkings and Prison Dave's restrained thumpings. But don't worry! We're a real band now. We have a myspace. The URL is obvious.

Now.
Leave us alone with your mother for a bit.
Much appreciated.
Peace out.

Sloof Lirpa

As of today, the Pickle Farmers have been signed by the Universal Music Group label, and will be producing and their distributing their first album shortly. This is a great day for us and all our fans, as this will continue to bring new opportunities for the expansion and development of the Pickle Farmers brand. Our new songs will shortly be available on iTunes and our album will be for sale at most big box stores, check it out at www.walmart.com or www.thepicklefarmers.com.

Unfortunately due to the constrictions placed on us by our label we will no longer be able to play the music you know and love. The Pickle Farmers will now be a strictly pop-punk band and we will be constrained to only play music written by Nickleback. We thank you, the fans, for your continued support in this time of growth for us.
