Hot in Herre is finally here!

After an illness caused delay, The Pickle Farmers new single "Hot in Herre" is finally done! This is a very exciting time for us and I really hope that you will all check it out on our MySpace page. This is a cover of Jenny Owen Youngs's cover of Nelly's "Hot in Herre." A quick list of the instrumentation, Ray plays ukulele and sings the main part. Jessie plays guitar and bass and sings backup vocals, while I played the drums and sang backup vocals. I think we are all very excited about this particular song and our cover of it so I hope you all enjoy it and as always let us know what you think!

P.S. Big thanks Anna Sell for providing us with a vital female voice in the recording. See if you can find it!

Update!

I lost my voice! Ahhhh!
Anyway, this explains the delay in the release of our new single, Hot in Herre, which is now tentatively scheduled to be released on the 16th of March.

What this doesn't explain is the awesome online occurrences that have been taking place over the last few days, one of which is... WE HAVE A YOUTUBE!! Our username, of course, is "ThePickleFarmers" http://www.youtube.com/thepicklefarmers is where to find us!

It's really bare-bones and sad looking right now, but keep checking up.... there's the possibility for some really cool music videos!

Also, you can now reach this blogspot by simply typing 'thepicklefarmers.com'

Peace, yo!

Hot in Herre.

A long time in the making, The Pickle Farmers are nearing completion on a cover of a cover, that is a cover of Jenny Owen Youngs's cover of Nelly's Hot In Herre. As I write this, Jesse James and I are listening to a preliminary mixing. With this successful recording we get a little closer to our goal of releasing an actual album of music. I'm not sure when this recording will be out but I would expect it by the end or the week.

Hot N Cold

We have finished our version of Katy Perry's Hot N Cold. It is freaking awesome. You would do very well to check it out. Hopefully it'll be on myspace tonight or tomorrow. Seriously, check it out. You know you don't have anything better to do.

The internetz.

The Pickle Farmers are on the move again. We are creating an acoustic cover of Katy Perry's Hot N Cold with Jessie James rockin' on the guitar and I am singing with the assistance of auto-tune a beautiful melody. It's not quite finished, hopefully we'll have it finished up and online on myspace by tomorrow night. This is hopefully the beginning of some sweet acoustic covers for our new album.

In other exciting news, I have been setting up our infrastructure for the overtaking of the internet. The Pickle Farmers now have a facebook group which everyone is invited to join and check out, and we also have a twitter account that everyone should subscribe to, we'll use that to let the fans know about some compositions and new music coming up. The times they are a changin', I hope you're ready to keep up.

The Sound of Music

Months have passed, dear readers, since The Pickle Farmers have engaged in acts of musical creation. The Pickle Farmers are creating again. Even without a valuable member of our sacred and famed team, Prison Dave and Jessie James are creating some music for our new album Apple Jacks and Orchards EP, consisting of acoustic covers of famous pop music.

Music by Dame Katy Perry, namely the award-winning song, Hot N Cold, has been acousticized and sung by The Pickle Farmers. Rejoice my friends, The Pickle Farmers live and create again. Perhaps someday, someday soon, you will again hear music from the musical gods that are The Pickle Farmers.

Apple Jacks and Orchards

For whatever reason I like that as another album name. If only I was as good at making music as I think I am at creating album titles. It's late and I have to work very early tomorrow morning but yet I am here at my computer, writing on. I wonder if anyone reads this blog anymore. Probably not. Fireflies and Nightlights. I also like that as a name for an album. Well, The Pickle Farmers now have three album titles and no songs to go with them. Kind of depressing. If I do write a song, it might be about Camp Alpha. My second run at it with about 10 times as much sleep went quite well. I have realized that pretty much all my songs are badly rhymed couplets that are kind of lame. Oh well. What does Apple Jacks and Orchards mean to me?

There are the apples
They trouble me so
To find them all there
Lying so low

Too many to count
If you have a life
Bruised and battered
Like a poor wife

Those seem like a couple good lines. They don't really sound right unless you rap them. Maybe this will be a rap album. I can't promise The Pickle Farmers will ever make music again. Perhaps the wonderful night at the Common Cup and a jam-packed performance at the MAHS Auditorium is all that these music visionaries could muster before the music gods would pull them back down to earth in heartbreaking fashion. If that is all that The Pickle Farmers do, then so be it. It's not my place to dwell on what could have been, the Grammy's we could have won, the movies that could have been made about us. Let's get another couple song lines.

Mash them to cider
Or cook them in pies
What ever your choice
Make a surprise

Everyone loves them
What could go wrong
A fruit like apples
Needs a theme song

Think about it.

No Time Like The Present

I have just decided that that would be an excellent name for an album, therefore, that will be the name of the Pickle Farmer's second album. Now critics may be on my case saying things like, "why don't you write some music instead of album names" and "how can you have a name for your second album when you haven't even made the first one?" I will answer that these are all valid questions. Now some of you may be saying that that in no way answers the question. I will ignore you. The truth is that there is an above-zero chance that the pickle farmers will produce some excellent music this summer. Obviously enough, there is a greater-than-zero chance that that music we produce will be excellent. I hope our readers at home have their statistics books handy, and have calculate that that gives us an excellent chance to be producing quality music, something we are renown for and take great pride in.

To all the Pickle Farmers fans out there I have but two words for you:

Endure... longer.
