Temporary Pursuit of Other Musical Endeavors

Well I am officially beginning final rehearsals for my first "Pro" music gig, along with my good friend (I won't print her name here, we'll call her "Böss") we are both paid musicians now. I will make a triumphant official return to Pickle Farmer exclusivity after August 10th, but for now, my heart is in the pit of Guys and Dolls in Long Prairie. For any of you wishing to attend, shows are August 1,2,8,9 at 7:00, or August 3rd and 10th at 2:00. Ticket information will be available after tonight.

Singularity

is the point in the future at which we will no longer understand the machines that we have built. More and more complicated electronic brains design more and more complicated electronic brains.

It is on this day, no matter how far in the future, that I will have the proverbial last slice of pizza.

Peace out.

Without You

Without you,
the ground thaws,
the rain falls,
the grass grows.

Without you,
the seeds root,
the flowers bloom,
the children play.

The stars gleam,
the poets dream,
the eagles fly,
without you.

The earth turns,
the sun burns,
but I die,
without you.

Without you,
the stars roar,
the breeze warms,
the girl smiles,
the cloud moves.

Without you,
the tides change,
the boys run,
the oceans crash.

The crowds roar,
the days soar,
the babies cry,
without you.

The moon glows,
the river flows,
but I die,
without you.

The world revives,
Colors renew,
But I know blue,
only blue,
lonely blue,
within me blue.

Without you.

Without you,
the hand gropes,
the ear hears,
the pulse beats.

Without you,
the eyes gaze,
the legs walk,
the lungs breathe.

The mind churns!
The mind churns!
The heart yearns!
The heart yearns!

The tears dry,
without you.
Life goes on,
but I’m gone.
Cause I die,
without you.

Without you.
Without you.
Without you.

Thanks to RENT.

Olympia!

Hey there pickle fans!
Just wanted to let everyone know that I'm MIA until July 10th! I'm touring what's left of the country, and let me tell YOU pickle fans, that I wish you were here with me. That's right.
I wish I had a whole bunch of random people along road tripping with me. Because that would be HILARIOUS.

Anyway, if you're ever out 'tripping I'd recommend Vancouver, but not if you're road tripping in a car. Find somewhere to ditch it, I swear. Half the roads are one way, and every other Friday or so they shut down a whole bunch of roads and have a demonstration for bicycle awareness. Cool if you're on your bicycle, a hindrance if not.
Otherwise, Port Townsend is cool-- lots of neat shops and good food, along with a stiff ocean breeze that could knock you straight off of the beautiful picturesque piers.
Glacier National Park was absolutely beautiful, and one of the few places you can still see glaciers. If you're there look for Meg from New Zealand and her friends. They know everything about the park, and are eager to share. Apparently a few of them witnessed full grown bears tussling in the wilderness and got amazing pictures. Too bad they won't sell out to National Geographic.
Besides that, the panhandle of Idaho has NO good music stations. Staticky country and crystal clear religious talk are all you can get. Weird.
Heyo, well I'll see yallz in a few weeks.
Peace out.
